Coastal Electronauts

Coastal Electronauts are a collective of sound artists living in the estuary area of East Kent.

Although we approach our practices in a diverse range of techniques, sonic devices and instruments, we are all influenced by the sounds of the coast, and the rhythm of the tides. Field recordings, and imitations of nature often weave their way into our compositions, and images of our surrounding environs underpin the visuals created by our regular collaborator diz_qo.

At our monthly SEMS (Synth and Electronic Music Session), we are open to performances from anyone who would like to, in an open-mic format, but we also hold regular events where the core members of the group perform, as well as special guests.

We also create Sound Baths - an immersive sound and visual experience, featuring guided meditation, musicians and sound artists and we run the annual International Drone Day event at The Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury.

Our regular members include:

  • Peter Coyte AKA Shape Navigator
  • Clive Walpole AKA AnalogueMechanic
  • Sophie Sirota
  • Rhys Norster AKA OSVoS
  • Sebastian Smith AKA Sebtic Smile
  • Elliott Sirota-Gott AKA smelliott
