About the event
This event is open to anyone yearning to show some work in front of an appreciative audience but has not had the opportunity up until now.
Fourth Portal and the audience are very appreciative and understanding of the nerves and fears that many local people feel when putting themselves out there. Alternative Gravesham has no expectations, and why Gravesend is such a cool place to have a Fourth Portal.
Our special guest this time is Raxil4 with Hywel Jones
Anyone from Gravesham borough is welcome to try out something new, any genre. Running order is very loose, it will be very much a DIY kind of day.
Confirmed performers and rough time of the performance...
Time tbc Plaid Matter

'a duet for pipe organ, electronics and trombone'
raxil4 is multi-disciplinary sound artist Andrew Page, specialising in analogue electronic dronescapes, acoustic audio phenomenon and installation. He has performed live all over Europe, and many of his performances have been in non-traditional venues, often choosing to play spaces with character and interesting acoustic qualities, such as caves, churches, crypts, prison cells, psychiatric hospitals & water towers. He has also performed live and installed durational works in galleries such as Tate Modern (London), The Barbican (London), The Arnolfini (Bristol), M-HKA (Antwerp), Sonnestube (Lugano), Soundfjord (London) & GV Art (London). Some of his generative pieces have been discussed in classes on composition at the Royal Academy of Music. The first 400 releases of his back catalogue now reside within the British Library Sound Archive.
Hywel Jones Originally hailing from Swansea, South Wales, Hywel studied music at Goldsmiths University where he graduated in 2013. He has played Trombone and Euphonium in a wide range of styles and with ensembles including free improvisation group The Apocalypse Jazz Unit and rapper WONDRWOMN. He is also interested in composition and is currently working on his own project with various friends/musical collaborators. Since graduating, he has mostly worked as a music teacher (teaching everything from babies and toddler music classes through to adult learners) and currently teaches Brass in West London.
